July is National Ice Cream Month!
This is a holiday we definitely love to celebrate at the COA. We are having an Ice Cream Social on Monday, July 16th at both our centers. In Three Rivers the fun starts at 12:30 p.m. and in Sturgis we'll start serving at 12:15 p.m. Please RSVP to either Pat or Alex or call the COA at (269) 279-8083 if you are planning on participating. Hope to see you there!
COA and Collette Tours Offering Trip to Ireland
A representative from Collette Tours will be at both our centers on Tuesday, July 31 to go over all the details of a fabulous trip to Ireland, which is scheduled to depart Detroit on March 26, 2019. Some highlights of this fantastic eight-day tour include visiting the Cliffs of Moher and Christ Church Cathedral. If you would like to learn more you can attend either meeting. The one in Three Rivers is at 10 a.m. and the one in Sturgis is at 1 p.m. No reservations are needed.
COA Board Approves New Mission Statement
The Commission on Aging Advisory Board approved a new mission statement for the COA at its June meeting. The statement was developed after meeting with COA staff and COA members to gather their input on what it should include. The COA mission statement is: We provide exceptional services and programs promoting independence, healthy lifestyles and engagement that focuses on seniors and benefits all citizens of St. Joseph County.
