See You at the Fair!
September means it's time for the St. Joseph County Grange Fair. The COA will be at the Fair on Senior Day, which is Wednesday, September 19. The COA Advisory Board will have its monthly meeting in the Community Tent at 11:15 a.m. Afterwards we will demonstrate one of our many fun COA activities. September is National Fall Prevention Month
The COA will offer guest speakers at both its centers on Friday, September 21, which is National Fall Prevention Day. In Three Rivers, Autumn Yost of Triple River CrossFit will demonstrate exercises and movements you can do to help prevent falls. She will be speaking at 10 a.m. in the Community Room. Immediately after Autumn's presentation we will have a therapist from Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers to talk about fall risk. Sturgis Hospital will be at the Oaks Enrichment Center at 11 a.m. that day and will offer balance assessments with practical tips on how to prevent falls.

Take a Day Trip this Month
The COA is offering its members nine trips in the month of September to places like Sauder Village in Ohio or Tippecanoe Place in South Bend. If you are 60 or over and live in St. Joseph County you need to belong to the COA. Our trip program is just one of many activities and services we offer our members.
